Steve Pizzolato
Stories inspired by life.
Steve is a unique story teller, that interwines personal experiences with trends and cultural shifts that shape, change and in some cases, destroy lives, individually or on a grand scale.
The man behind the stories.
Steve grew up in Chicago before moving to St. Louis, where he spent much of his life. His love of reading and writing was encouraged by his mother, a librarian and his brother, his grade-school teacher.
For 21 years, Steve owned and operated a digital marketing agency. His professional experiences, along with his interests and observations of the world around him, have continued to influence his writing.
Steve and his wife, Nancy, have three daughters and four grandchildren. Outside of writing, he enjoys spending time with his family and fly fishing on quiet streams in Missouri, that allow him to think about his story ideas.
Stories of crime & consequence.
Steve's first three novels introduce readers to compelling characters, difficult choices and crimes that challenge the people and institutions around them.
The Perfect Match
Frank Esposito has an incurable lung disease and needs a double lung transplant within months to survive.
A new transplant center in St. Louis is challenging cultural and ethical paradigms surrounding end-of-life decisions and the organ transplant business. As murder and carjackings begin to expose a much larger crime, Detective Rhonda Simon discovers connections that reach far beyond the cases she originally investigated.
Noah's Ark
Detective Rhonda Simon is suspended from the St. Louis Police Department while a past shooting is investigated.
When a crime at an IVF clinic brings an old connection back into her life, Simon and her investigator Richard Leary uncover a collection of suspects and secrets that could turn a local crime into a national crisis.
Lies, Spies, Everyone Dies.
A new chapter in the Detective takes the story from St. Louis to the United Arab Emirates.
Steve Pizzolato's third book follows Detective Rhonda Simon and her colleagues into a world where technology, power and wealth collide.
Dr. Alex Finnegan and Detective Simon find themselves drawn into a dangerous situation involving Richard Leary and French spy Monique Chambre.
What begins as an investigation soon reaches far beyond the people involved, placing lives and much more at risk.
Part of a series featuring Detective Rhonda Simon and the people whose lives intersect with crime, choice and consequence.
The next chapter.
The fourth book is taking shape.
Some stories take time to reveal exactly what they want to become.
Steve is currently developing the fourth book, exploring its characters, perspective and the story it ultimately wants to tell.
The direction is still evolving, leaving room for the characters and circumstances to shape the story naturally as the writing continues.
FEATURED STORY
The Magic Jacket.
Sometimes a story begins with something left behind.
Steve's father was a bombardier during World War II. Years after his father's death, Steve discovered a jacket that had belonged to him.
The jacket raised questions. Where had it come from? Who had owned it before? And what story was hidden in its history?
What began as a personal discovery became the beginning of a story Steve wanted to explore and share.
